Wards

  • Cardinia Shire is now divided into 9 wards, with each ward represented by one councillor. You can check your ward and councillor online
  • All wards, the councillor that represents each ward, and the suburbs and townships included in each ward are listed on this page.
  • A change in ward boundaries came into effect at the Council elections in October 2020, following a review of council electoral structures by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC). The new ward boundaries ensure each councillor represents roughly the same number of voters.

  • Under the new Local Government Act which came into effect on 6 April 2020, 10 councils in Victoria (including Cardinia Shire) changed their electoral structure for the 2020 council elections held in October, following a representation review by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).
  • As a result, Cardinia Shire is now comprised of 9 single-councillor wards. For information on this process, read the Cardinia Shire Council representation review report on the VEC website
