Description
Fast growing rounded to erect shrub with red, ribbed stems.

Leaves
Broad, thick shiny foliage often with thickened yellow edges, 5-20cm x 5-25mm.
Flowers
Clusters of ball-shaped flowerheads, massed along branches in leaf axils. Narrow, erect, curved pods with thickened margins, 4-9cm x 3-5mm.

Cream to yellow

July to October
Growing conditions
Sandy or clay well drained soils in heaths and scrubs of open forests. Full sun to semi shade.
Commonly used for
Provides fast colour in the garden while slower plants grow. About 5 years useful life span. Quick screen. Adaptable to most garden conditions. Pruning beneficial.
