Stiff, narrow downy leaves 3-23mm x 0.6-3.6mm, tip pointed, margins rolled under touching the broad central ridge below. Some forms have dark green hairless leaves.

Usually stalkless flowers to 20mm across on ends of short branchlets. 6-15 stamens in one cluster to the side of the ovary.
