Bright green wrinkled divided leaves, downy white below. 3-5 egg-shaped leaflets 1-4cm x 1-3.5cm, margins lobed to deeply toothed. Stalks prickly.

Short terminal bunches or single axillary flowers to 15mm wide. Edible red berries December to April.
