Position description summary
The Melbourne AMEP Volunteer Tutor Scheme is
experiencing an increased demand from newly arrived
refugees and migrant learners for volunteer English
tutors. Volunteer tutors assist learners with English
language skills and support migrants settling into their
new country Volunteers are supported through a simple
on-boarding process including eligibility checks and are
trained to support a refugee or migrant to practice and
improve their English language skills and navigate
settlement in Australia. On completion of the training
volunteers will be matched with a Melbourne AMEP
learner who they will tutor one on one for 1-2 hours a
week. It is expected that all tutoring will be online for the
next 6 months. • no experience necessary • all training
provided • one to two hours per week
