FAQs
When will the new providers start delivering kindergarten services?
From the start of Term 1, 2024 until December 2028.
My child won’t be in kindergarten in 2024. Do these changes impact me?
No - there will be no change to kindergarten service delivery or provider in 2023.
When will I hear back about which kindergarten my child has been placed at for 2024?
You can view key dates for kindergarten registration on the Register for kindergarten or accept an offer webpage
When will I be contacted by the new service provider about the enrolment process?
- Once your child has been allocated a kindergarten place, the new kindergarten provider will contact you directly to inform you about the enrolment process, including forms to be completed and parent information sessions.
- Please allow up to 8 weeks for them to contact you during this peak time as group lists are being finalised.
I’ve already registered my child for kindergarten in 2024. Do I need to re-register them given the kindergartens will have new providers?
No. This process is operated by Council and is separate from the enrolment process.
I have already been allocated a kindergarten place for 2024. Will this change in provider affect my child's placement?
No. Your placement will not be affected by the change of service provider.
Will the current kindergarten staff remain at the kindergarten?
If they wish to do so, all existing staff will have the opportunity to transition to the new provider.
Who employs the educators at the kindergartens?
The staff are employed by the individual service providers. Council does not have any involvement or influence regarding their employment.
What about the kindergartens that weren't listed in the email sent out to families?
- If your kindergarten wasn't mentioned in the email you received, that means it is not undergoing a change of service provider.
