Connecting roads in Officer

As are part of the Officer Precinct Structure Plan, council will duplicate Brunt Rd from the entrance of Blue Gum Park to the railway crossing, and extend Pioneer Way to connect with Brunt Rd. 

These works will support the Princes Highway Intersection upgrade works and the development of Cardinia Shire’s urban growth corridor, while providing access to the new Officer Brunt Road Primary School. 

Works will also include: 

• Installation of a roundabout at the Brunt Rd, Pioneer Way, and Edinburgh Drive intersection 
• Pavement construction 
• Parking bays 
• Drainage 
• Public lighting works 
• Kerb and channel 
• Line marking 

To ensure community safety, temporary road closures along Brunt Rd are expected and traffic management including reduced speed limits and traffic and footpath detours will be in place throughout the duration of the upgrade works.  

While council will work to minimise disruptions, please understand that increased noise, traffic, and travel times may be temporarily experienced in the area. Council is urging drivers to avoid the area if possible, or to seek alternate routes, as delays are expected.     

Works are scheduled to be completed by November 2023, conditions permitting.
