Breathe life into your creative ideas with a Cardinia Arts Grant

Published: 8 April 2024

Arts groups and artists from all career stages are encouraged to apply for the 2024 Cardinia Arts Grants program.

This exciting opportunity assists creatives to connect their artistic practice with the local community. Applications are now open and close at midnight on Sunday 21 April.

Artists and arts groups can apply for a grant of up to $5,000. Applicants are requested to contact Council's Arts team to discuss their project idea before applying.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Jack Kowarzik said the annual grants program supports local artists to design and deliver artistic projects that will be enjoyed and appreciated by the Cardinia Shire community.

"Emerging artists are strongly encouraged to apply, because at least one emerging artist will be selected to receive a grant, providing they meet the selection criteria. We hope it's seen as an exciting opporunity for artists across our shire."

Councillor Jeff Springfield, an established local musician, encouraged local artists to apply for one of the grants available.

"Previous recipients have pursued creative projects related to music, film, visual arts, and digital art as examples. Creatives who practic any artform are encouraged to apply," Cr Springfield said.

"These grants provide the financial boost needed for creative ideas to become a reality, which helps to expand and promote the arts in Cardinia Shire."
