Council continuing to support community wellbeing
Cardinia Shire Council have granted funding to 63 community organisations for projects that contribute to making Cardinia an incredible place to live.
This year's Annual Wellbeing Support Grant recipients will share $125,332.54 allocated to the program to provide Cardinia residents with various programs and activities.
The annual Wellbeing Support Grant Program assists with establishing new community organisations, projects, and services and enhancing existing projects and programs that benefit our diverse community.
This grant program funds initiatives that:
- Improve resident health and wellbeing
- support opportunities for volunteering
- build the capacity of community groups, projects, and programs to be sustainable.
The Wellbeing Grants funded this year cover initiatives in leisure, culture, community development, environment, health, education, sports, and welfare programs and activities.
Recipients of this year's Wellbeing Support Grants will receive between $600 to $5,000 to provide a variety of programs and activities for Cardinia residents.
Cardinia Shire Mayor, Councillor Jack Kowarzik, emphasised the importance of supporting community-led initiatives.
"The projects funded by these grants aim to improve the health and well-being of Cardinia residents," Mayor Kowarzik said.
"We hope that this support will allow these important groups and organisations to continue to provide fantastic services to our community."
