Celebrate Parks Week in Cardinia Shire
Cardinia Shire Council will host a variety of free community activities throughout the shire from 3 to 10 March to celebrate Parks Week.
Parks Week is a national event highlighting the importance of parks and outdoor spaces. To encourage the community to reconnect with nature, explore local parks, and participate in enjoyable outdoor activities council has organised free events for the community.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Jack Kowarzik encourages the community to come together to celebrate the parks and natural beauty that make Cardinia Shire a great place to live, work, and play. "Parks Week is a wonderful opportunity for our community to engage with the beautiful outdoor spaces we have right here in Cardinia Shire. We encourage everyone to take part in these free activities, enjoy the fresh air, and connect with nature," said Mayor Kowarzik.
Throughout the week, community members can participate in the following activities:
- 2 March: Aligned Leisure Fun Run, Deep Creek Reserve, Pakenham
- 3 March: Learn to ride a bike (ages 5-12), Ron Andrews Reserve, Pakenham
- 4 March: Officer District Park doggy afternoon
- 5 March: Coffee with Community, Alma Treloar Reserve, Cockatoo
- 8 March: Emerald Lake Park lunch by the lake
All activities are free except the Aligned Leisure Fun Run, which raises money for The Cardinia Foundation to support vulnerable members of our community. Some activities may require registration before attending.
