New contract jobs coming soon to Cardinia Shire
Council will be creating around 60 new contract jobs for local residents as part of the Victorian Government’s Working for Victoria fund.
The $500 million Victorian Government initiative is supporting people who have lost their jobs – either due to the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19), or for other reasons.
The jobs on offer will be 6-month roles with Council, working in areas including outdoor maintenance, cleaning and arts and culture.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Jeff Springfield said Council was pleased to have been successful in securing funding to deliver the local employment scheme.
“Council is very pleased to be part of Working for Victoria,” Cr Springfield said.
“We’re proud to be able to create these temporary positions for jobseekers in Cardinia Shire, doing work that will help our whole community, in what is a very challenging time to find employment.”
More information about the positions on offer and how to apply will be available soon on Council’s website.
