Concept designs for upgrades to Beaconsfield BMX track
The community is invited to have their say on the concept design for upgrades to the Upper Beaconsfield BMX track.
The concept design has been prepared based on the feedback received during the first round of community consultation which ran for three weeks in November.
The BMX track will be designed and constructed by specialist BMX track construction company Common Ground who were also responsible for the design and delivery of the Cockatoo Pump Track.
The designs are now available for public feedback from 15 December 2021 to 17 January 2022 on Creating Cardinia www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/haveyoursay
The designs will feature:
- Two key starting platforms accessed from the carpark
- Asphalt pump track designed to connect with the existing dirt track
- Resting and viewing platforms
- Berms, roller, step down/up double roller, and rollable hipped tabletop.
Cardinia Shire Council Mayor Councillor Jeff Springfield is encouraging residents to jump online and have their say.
“This is an incredibly popular facility in our shire,” Cr Springfield said.
“We recognise the importance of facilities like these, especially for the younger members of our community and now’s the time to look at upgrades and improvements so jump online and have your say.”
Council and Common Ground are consulting with local schools and the Upper Beaconsfield Recreation Reserve Committee of Management on this project.
