Teenage School Holiday Program for Winter 2024

About the program

  • Our Teenage School Holiday program is open to young people aged 12 to 17 years.
  • Activities are held across Cardinia Shire during the school holidays. Most activities are low cost or free.
  • Transport to and from some activities - from selected locations may be available. Please contact My Place Youth Centre for further information.
  • Bookings for all activities are essential. Please book using the online form.

My Place Youth Facility is open for reduced hours during school holidays, from 1pm to 5pm.

Week 1 activities

Tuesday 2 July – GROW Artwork Shop

Cost: Free
Location: My Place, 5 – 7 Main St Pakenham
Time: 1 – 4pm
What to bring: Comfortable and appropriate clothes for painting and a creative spirit. 
What will be provided: Fruit, water and snacks will be provided.
Added Information: The Grow exhibition will be on display at Cardinia Cultural Centre from Friday 2 August to Sunday 22 September 2024. All entries in the exhibition will be eligible for a People’s Choice Award. If the group artwork created at My Place is to receive an award, the prize pack will be awarded to the centre for the group to enjoy on an ongoing basis.
 

Wednesday 3 July - Inflatable World

Cost: $15
Location: 49 Southeast Blvd Pakenham
Time: 12.30 – 2.30pm
What to bring: Comfortable clothes and socks
What will be provided: Water will be provided.  There is a canteen at inflatable world for young people to purchase food and drinks from if they wish, this will be at their own cost. 
Added Information: Socks must be worn at all times.  
PLEASE NOTE IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please be at Inflatable World by 12.15pm for check in.
Young people will be ready for collection at 2.30pm.  
 

Thursday 4 July – Winter Warmers Cooking

Cost: Free
Location: My Place, 5 – 7 Main St Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: A container in case there are leftovers to take home.  
What will be provided: All ingredients for cooking on the day
Added Information:  This activity can get messy so please wear appropriate clothing, we will also be in the kitchen so closed toes shoes must be worn, no open toed shoes to be worn. Please tie hair back.  Aprons and gloves will be provided on the day.
 

Friday 5 July – GLOW Dance Party  

Cost: Free
Location: My Place, 5 – 7 Main St Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: Your favourite Fluro outfit
What will be provided: Snacks, fruit and water will be provided  
Added Information: Games and prizes will be given away all afternoon so dress to impress and practise those dance moves because this is going to be a GLOWING experience.

Week 2 activities

Monday 8 July  – PJ's and Movies

Cost:  Free
Location:  My Place, 5 – 7 Main St Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: Your favourite Pj’s, Oodie or something warm and comfortable to wear. Bring your favourite blanket or pillow if you wish
What will be provided: Snacks and Water will be provided
Added Information: Movies will have a G or PG rating


Tuesday 9 July  – Game Show Day

Cost:  Free
Location:  My Place, 5 – 7 Main St Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: All items will be supplied on the day
What will be provided: Snacks, fruit and water will be provided
Added Information: Come along with your friends, bring your competitive spirit, and see who takes out Youth Services Game Show


Wednesday 10 July  – Kemizo

Cost: $15
Location: 1/100 Bald Hill Road Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What will be provided: Water and lunch will be provided, please refer to the booking form for choice and selection
What to bring: Socks, sensible shoes and comfortable clothing to skate, run and climb. If you have your own skates, you’re welcome to bring them if not skate hire is included in the price.   
PLEASE NOTE IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  Please meet Youth Workers at the entrance of Kemizo at 1.20pm for check-in.
Our session starts at 1.30pm and finishes at 3.30pm 
 

Thursday 11 July  – Mario Kart Tournament Day

Cost:  Free
Location:  My Place, 5 – 7 Main St Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: Your gaming skills and competitive spirit for the ultimate showdown at our Mario Kart Competition.  
What will be provided: Snacks, and water will be provided
Added Information: Calling all gamers and racing enthusiast to join our Mario Kart comp. Do not miss out the opportunity of claiming the first place and have fun creating new friendships and competing with your peers.
