Teenage School Holiday Program for Summer 2025

About the program

  • Our Teenage School Holiday program is open to young people aged 12 to 17 years.
  • Activities are held across Cardinia Shire during the school holidays. Most activities are low cost or free.
  • Transport to and from some activities - from selected locations may be available. Please contact My Place Youth Centre for further information.
  • Bookings for all activities are essential. Please book using the online form.

My Place Youth Facility is open for reduced hours during school holidays, from 1pm to 5pm.

Week 1 activities

Tuesday 14 January - Tie Dying

Cost:  Free
Location: My Place Youth Centre  5 – 7 Main St Pakenham 
Time: 1.30 - 3.30pm
What to bring: A creative mind and a sense of fun   
What will be provided: Water and snacks will be provided for this activity
Added Information:   

  • This activity can get messy. Please wear old clothes.
  • Aprons and gloves will be provided for this activity 

Wednesday 15 January - Healesville Sanctuary 

Cost:  $10 
Location:  Glen Eadie Ave Healesville 
Time:  9am - 4pm
What to bring:  Comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking in this activity, sensible clothing, a hat, a drink, a packed lunch or money for food and souvenirs  
What about lunch: 

  • Please bring a Packed Lunch or money to purchase food from the venue.
  • If you need a packed lunch provided, please contact My Place Youth Centre.

Added Information: 

  • Participants will be travelling by bus for this activity. 
  • Please be at My Place Youth Centre at 8.50am  -   Departure will be at 9.00am sharp
  • Return to My Place Youth Centre will be at 4pm  (approximately and dependant on traffic)

Thursday 16 January - Cooking 

Cost:  Free
Location:  My Place, 5 – 7 Main St Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: Your creative flare, a container for any leftovers 
What will be provided: Eat what you make 
Added Information: 

  •  Please wear enclosed shoes and appropriate clothes to cook in as this activity can get messy.
  •  Aprons and gloves will be provided 

Friday 17 January - Resin Moulds 

Cost:  Free
Location:  My Place, 5 – 7 Main St Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 4pm
What to bring: Your creative flare, old clothes as this activity can get messy   
What will be provided:  Water and snacks will be provided for this activity   
Added Information:  

  • Please wear enclosed shoes and appropriate clothes that you dont mind getting messy.
  • Aprons and gloves will be provided 

Week 2 activities

Monday 20 January - Basketball Game Day 

Cost:  Free
Location:  Cardinia Life 4/6 Olympic Way Pakenham 
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring:  Sensible shoes and clothing to play basketball in   
What will be provided: Water and snacks will be provided 
Added Information: 

  • Please meet your friendly youth workers out the front of Cardinia Life at 1.20pm to sign in.
  • Limited transport will be provided for this activity - from My Place Youth Centre to Cardinia Life and return
  • Bookings are essential - spots will be limited. 

For transport:

  • Please be at My Place Youth Centre at 1.05pm  -   Departure will be 1.15pm sharp
  • Return to My Place Youth Centre will be at 4pm  (approximately and dependant on traffic)

Tuesday 21 October -  Gumbuya World 

Cost: $40
Location:  2705 Princes Hwy, Tynong North
Time: 9.45am - 3.30pm
What to bring: Appropriate shoes for walking, rides and water area. Towel, hat and bathers/swimming clothes. 
What about lunch?: Bring your own packed lunch, and water or money to purchase your lunch there.  
Added Information: 

  • Please meet your friendly youth workers out the front of Gumbuya World at 9.45am to sign in - entry to the park will be at 10am. 
  • Young People to be collected at the front entry at 3.30pm sharp
  • Limited transport will be provided for this activity from My Place Youth Centre to Gumbuya World and return
  • Bookings are essential - spots will be limited. 

For transport:

  • Please be at My Place Youth Centre at 9.10am  -  Departure will be at 9.20am sharp
  • Return to My Place Youth Centre will be at 4pm  (approximately and dependant on traffic)       

Wednesday 22 January  - Trivia Day @ Pakenham Library

Cost: Free
Location:  Pakenham Library Cnr John and Henry Street Pakenham  
Time: 3pm - 6pm
What about lunch:  Snacks and water will be provided  
What to bring: A sense of fun and a friendly competitive attitude  
Added Information: 

  • Get your team together or come by yourself and join one of our friendly teams to see who the trivia master of the afternoon is.
  • Lots of fun and prizes to be won    

Thursday 23 January - Special Effects Make Up Class 

Cost:  $8
Location:  My Place, 5 – 7 Main St Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: Your creative flare
What will be provided:  Water and snacks will be provided  
Added Information: 

  • This is a demonstration on how all the great special effects make up is done for films, tv, stage and so much more.
  • You may be chosen to be a model for the day please ensure your face and skin is clean and free from any other make up.
